Rubina Inamdar – President
Rubina was born and raised in Fremont. She has been an active member of the community for decades. Her mission is to educate the community so they can engage in civic and political systems. She supports community members to register to vote, run for office, and build a platform to uplift marginalized voices.
Aziz Akbari – Vice President
Aziz Akbari, is an experienced and passionate public servant who has committed himself to breaking the societal barriers that bound today’s youth. As an 18-year-old, he ran for mayor of Fremont, CA in 2012. Over the next two and a half years, he served as a Consumer Affairs Commissioner in California’s Alameda County – the youngest to ever serve in this capacity. He also served as a Senator in the Undergraduate Student Government and on the Board of Presidents at USC. Building off of his experience in public service and engineering, Aziz set history by being elected to the Alameda County Water District’s Board of Directors in 2016. In the 102 year history of the Water District, he is the youngest to be elected and only the third person to unseat an incumbent. In the 2016 election, he was among the youngest candidates elected to office in the United States and is the youngest Muslim-American elected to public office in the United States. Outside of public service, Aziz has performed stand-up comedy at some of Hollywood’s most famous comedy clubs and is a member of the Niles Rotary Club.
